The South Gate Veterinary Clinic may be temporarily closed and its number disconnected, but this has not prevented the former client from petitioning the city to name a dog park after him.

The 65-year-old Dr. Mike Horbal passed away on April 29, which dealt a devastating blow to pet owners who relied on his fair pricing and round-the-clock supply. 

Last spring, the staff of the beloved veterinarian’s office set up a memorial for him, where hundreds of people appeared-not only to pay tribute-but also to promote the renaming of Gary B. Jones after him. garden.

Commissioner Elvin Villalobos (Elvin Villalobos) said his voters will eventually get what they want. 

"I have encouraged two different residents, Susan Winters and Stacey Karron, to petition the city, and I will pass the advice to my other commissioners, the mayor, parks and entertainment venues," he said.

He added that the city of Tamarack will recognize and commend the late Dr. Horbal and thank him for his significant contributions to the community through the efforts of the residents. A dedication plaque named after him will be unveiled at Paws with Claus Holiday Paws- The ty and adoption event will be held on Saturday, December 11th from 10 a.m. to noon.

The unveiling ceremony was held at the large dog area of ​​The Gary B. Jones Dog Park for People and Pups at 8101 Southgate Boulevard at 11 am.
